My personal photography explores the streets, architecture and everyday life of Newcastle. I’m drawn to the relationship between people and their surroundings, from familiar landmarks to quieter corners and details that are easily overlooked.
Much of this work is photographed in black and white, using light, shadow and composition to convey the character and atmosphere of the city. I particularly enjoy grey, rainy days and the changing light around dusk, when reflections and the mix of natural and artificial light transform familiar streets.
These photographs bring together my interests in architecture, documentary photography and the urban landscape. The same attention to light, structure and detail also informs my commissioned interior and architectural work.

Exploring Newcastle through my camera has allowed me to capture the city’s vibrant energy and striking architecture. I especial love grey rainy days. the city comes to life with the mix of natural and artificial light this creates a beautiful and surreal world.
